Human Nutritional Sciences – Multidisciplinary Insights and Solutions

Welcome to the Nordic Nutrition Conference in Helsinki, December 14–16, 2020

It is our pleasure to welcome all human nutrition researchers, clinical dietitians and all other experts to Helsinki to join the NNC 2020 organised by the Finnish Society for Nutrition Research. The Scientific Programme Committee and the Local Organising Committee have composed an interesting and up-to-date scientific program. We’ll offer four plenary lectures and 12 review sessions, each including three presentations. The review sessions focus on nutritional physiology, clinical nutrition and public health nutrition. Furthermore, about half of the sessions offer problem-based, multidisciplinary approaches to the most important, topical/actual nutritional and health challenges. We want to bring forth how human nutrition works at its best.

There are several sessions reserved for oral presentations that are selected from submitted abstracts. We encourage particularly young researchers, PhD-students and post docs, to submit abstracts. The NNC 2020 is a great venue for the first oral presentation in front of an international audience and a great supportive atmosphere – we believe NNC 2020 will be just the right size.

Helsinki is also a hip city. It has become more and more international during the last years. There are endless possibilities for sitting in a pleasant café or having a fine dinner. The centre of Helsinki is also walkable and particularly a stroll along the seaside is certain to bring peace in your mind. It should also be reminded that the south tip, a wonderful recreational area – the Central Park – is just behind our conference venue, the Finlandia Hall. Those who love running can find dirt roads and forest single-tracks for a good 1–2 h workout.

Please feel warmly welcome to Helsinki in December 2020.
